1 week later and 2 stents installed, I was back out running.
I have been running off and on since 1988, running cross-country in high school. When I was in my early 40’s, my twins were born. At that time, I realized that I had bloomed to a colossal weight. Knowing what works best for me, I started running again consistently, competing in my first Ragnar in 2014.
Fast forward to the fall of 2017, when I was out on a trail run and felt like I had pneumonia. I went into my regular MD and was immediately sent over to a Cardiologist. It was there that I discovered a 90% blockage in my descending Aorta. 1 week later and 2 stents installed, I was back out running.
To date (since the diagnosis), I have 2 road Ragnars, 2 trail Ragnars (including the inaugural Black Loop in Washington State) plus multiple marathons and my 1st attempt at an Ultra.
